I'm glad we're doing all these movie projects now right before finals, because it gives us a little bit of a break. However, studying for finals is not going to be fun, but the end is near!

Frida Kahlo

Even though Frida was a good artist and her husband and her were well known, I also found out that her life was full of a lot of tragedy. She suffered from pain from the accident in the bus her whole life because she broke her spinal column and she wasn't even supposed to be able to walk again, but she did. Her husband and her had a lot of marriage problems because they often had affairs. She was bisexual so she was with both women and men and her husband cheated on her with her own sister.

Easter

Easter is an such an important holiday, celebrated globally and it's fun for children too. Although the fun and games go on with Easter eggs and bunnies, watching an Easter event in church is really something to see, and important for most people to know about.

We had a lot of fun filming for our movie, and I'm excited to see what the outcome of it will be like. I think we all did pretty good being dramatic and (even though it was corny) we had a lot of interesting situations put into the "problem" event in our movie.

As I thought I would try to drink some Spanish tea, I figured I should get some for relaxation right before I take an Spanish exam. I get so nervous before my Spanish tests that it affects my test scores, or it seems like it does. So maybe some relaxation tea would do me some good

That is something I wouldn't expect from a dead man's brother but I thought it was interesting and I wonder if the man who died wanted that buried with him or if his brother had thought that he'd get it when he died. Either way, I can't imagine stealing from a dead person if the gold was in the grave and had to be taken from the grave to get it.

Terremoto

All of these earthquakes are making me nervous. I knew there was another one in Japan, and I feel so bad for those people with all of that happening recently. I didn't realize there was another in Spain, and it makes me wonder if there will be more around the world since there have been so many bad ones across the world.

I thought that they subjunctive form was pretty easy, until we went over all the rules for the tense, and there were so many irregulars. It's hard to figure out if it's supposed to be in that tense from just reading spanish as opposed to writing a sentence in the subjunctive from english, knowing that it would fall under the terms that subjunctive requires

South Park

I agree with them getting into trouble for that. South Park is definitely not a show for children, although I think it's a little funny that they would put it on a kids station to begin with. It's interesting that South Park is in Spanish, maybe I'll listen to it sometime, and see how different the voices are.

Most of the chapters that we've been over I've been pretty lucky with because I've taken a lot of introductory Spanish courses but this chapter had a lot of words that I didn't recognize, so I'll really have to buckle down and study hard for them. But I think it will be easier because they are common words of the house, so I'm just going to have to incorporate them in my daily vocabulary and hope my family understands what I'm saying :)

Reading about this I wasn't really sure about what all happened, but it seems like a very serious issue, if it's affecting 110 countries. I'm guessing it originated in Valencia, but they believe several people were involved in this, hopefully they'll put an end to the fraud.

Tecnologia

In other, Spanish-speaking countries, cell phones are very popular because it's much cheaper to have a cell phone rather than land line phones. Also, in Spanish countries, it's common for people to use cafe's for using wi-fi and using the internet. Even in certain areas, there is out-door internet for people who want free internet.

Flan

I've heard a lot of people say they think flan looks gross or is gross, but I disagree. It is sooo good. It's really different too. Kind of a mix between jello and pudding. I didn't realize it was better known in the United States now than in Spanish countries, but when I researched it, that's what I found.

I like how competitive Spanish sport players are, I know the sports here are primarily focused on football, basketball a little and other various sports that are slightly less and less acknowledged. But sports like soccer and tennis, I never really see a whole lot of them featured in news, or shows or anything. It makes me wonder how much they enjoy engaging and watching intently on these sports, compared to football or basketball over there.

Lent

Although Lent is a Catholic tradition, it seems to be practiced by a lot of other people outside of the Catholic church. I like what it does for people though, not allowing them to have something that they'd really like and having to live without it, it shows a lot of self discipline. I've never done it but I know a lot of people who have even though they weren't Catholic.

Festival of Music and Dance

Franz Listz was a 19th century Hungarian composer, pianist and teacher. I'm not really sure why Granada has an event to recognize him, but apparently he was a famous music individual who played a big part in music.

Salud

I'm glad I haven't had many medical incidents, and thankfully I haven't even been sick enough to go to the doctor in 4 years. Also, I thought the video on the hospital in class was really interesting because how much different health care is in Spanish countries. However, I'm not really sure that I'd trust a doctor who hasn't had many years in practice, like they did in the video.

I'm kind of curious what a paramount theme park is like. And since it's in a different country, how that would differ compared to how theme parks in America are like. I can't really imagine foods like funnel cake or cheese on a stick being a popular food in theme parks in Spain, but you never know.

I was browsing through sites and found some really interesting art that caught my attention. I also like that in Spanish culture, the dances and music go together and the colors that the women wear. The environment of being in that kind of a culture I would imagine, would be really warm and happy all the time.

Old Ronda

I like all these places like this, in Spain and other places in the world. The people who created them are seriously talented, and it's a shame that not very many people visit this particular site. Then again, I imagine the temperature is hot, because looking at the pictures, it looks like it would be very dry and hot there.

Yo me mucho gusta fiestas, especialmente bodas!

I kind of like that we are learning about parties, and I remember when I was in elementary school, one of my teachers was Spanish and she taught us how to sing "Happy Birthday" in Spanish. I think I still remember it but then I've also heard it a couple different ways since then. I believe I heard one birthday song that wasn't actually "happy birthday" but just a song about birthdays, which, I've never heard that happening in English. At least not well known birthday songs other than the standard one.

Graffiti

I think this is horrible how people are damaging monuments in these Spanish areas, by graffiti. Graffiti is a form of art, and shouldn't be used this way, because that makes the image graffiti artists put on, as a bad one.

I'm not much of a car person, but if I had either car, I'd probably pick the Ferrari, just because it's a Ferrari.

Speaking of cars, when we went to Cancun, I remember being told that "everyone in Mexico speeds like crazy" and "even on regular streets, they go about 70 mph". However, when we went there and noticed the car was indeed going on the 70 mark, but it wasn't mph. I believe they measure their speed by kilometers per mile. So they weren't really going fast at all. Actually, The US is one of the only countries that travels from miles per hour.

Of course, it is by Picasso, a famous artist. La Lectura is supposed to be a painting about a hidden romance with a 17 year old, after he was already married to Olga Khokhlova.

This is a trick that would be worthy of world records for "How Many People Can We Fit in a VW Bug" If we can fit them in the dashboard, we might be able to break the current record of 17 people in at once.

Comidas!

Frutas, verduras, carne, y pescado.

I remember when I went to Cancun a couple years ago and trying the different food in Mexico. This week learning about food reminded me of the food there. I'm so accustomed to Tex-Mex food that I didn't realize how different authentic Mexican food is. Honestly, I prefer the Tex-Mex. I also came to learn that sopaipillas aren't even in Mexico.

Cyclist

I think this accusation is a little harsh, it wasn't like Contrador was using steroids. However, it has been known that clenbuterol is abused as a performance enhancing drug. If he was, then he deserves to be prohibited from competition.
